Title: Diagnostic Tester

Supervisor: Director of Psychological Services

Qualifications: A Master's degree or pursuant of such degree with significant progress, in psychology, counseling, or social work from an accredited school.
Must be able to demonstrate awareness of the cultural and socioeconomic differences of our clients as well as values a nurturing family as the ideal environment; a commitment to empowering others to solve their own problems and a conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change; the ability to establish a respectful relationship with persons served to help them gain skills and confidence by maintaining a helping role and appropriately intervening to meet service goals; the ability to set appropriate limits.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts and completes psychological testing batteries and assessments as needed with Youth Opportunity Center residents.
  • Writes testing reports to be edited by Director of Psychological Services.
  • Maintains consistent, professional communication with parents or guardians of residents in our care. Ensures that parents sign Testing Agreement form within five days of when testing case is assigned, per Grant regulations. Contacts and coordinates testing services by tracking case due dates and court dates or, as required by the Placing Agent.
  • Maintains accurate and current records on all Youth Opportunity Center diagnostic referrals, including documentation related to the Psychological Assessment Grant, including date of referral, dates of diagnostic processes, and status of the case. Accurately documents time spent engaging in each activity and submits billing to the Administrative Secretary by the due date requested. 
  • Maintains files of all original test protocol, court orders, Release of Authorization forms, and final reports of all completed evaluations.
  • Conducts feedback or supervises the ICC on all testing results with appropriate Youth Opportunity Center personnel, parents, and placing agents.
  • Attends probate court and supports recommendations of YOC in regard to testing and agency recommendations as determined by Director of Psychological Services.
